Charge-offs and late payments
A charge-off means the lender wrote off the debt as a loss. You may still owe it, and it can still show up. But many charge-offs and late payments have errors.
Common errors
- Late payments reported when you paid on time
- Charge-off still showing a balance after it was sold or paid
- Wrong date of first delinquency (which affects how long it stays)
What to expect
We dispute what is wrong, incomplete or can't be proven. True late payments and charge-offs can stay up to 7 years. Results are different for everyone.
